First Aid Kit – The Big Black and The Blue

First Aid Kit “The Big Black & The Blue

‘I Met Up With The King’…and ‘Hard Believer’ are just a few of many great tunes on this album. If you haven’t had a chance to check them out you’ll definitely enjoy the ride. With pitch perfect harmonies you’ll their clean, crisp folk sound is nothing new to a European Indie fans … and may be new to many mainstream American’s. But their folk sound (minus any real accent) is mature … far surpassing their young ages of 16 and 19. Accompanied with their smooth acoustics allows you to thoroughly enjoy the journey.

Klara & Johanna Söderberg
This Swedish sisters duo known as ‘First Aid Kit’ from Enskede, a suburb south of Stockholm have released their first full-length debut album – ‘The Big Black and The Blue’ on CD, vinyl and in digital form via Wichita Recordings. It contains 11 songs, including their latest single Hard Believer and the b-side Waltz for Richard.

If you’re not familiar with their sound … I predict that you will be. They’ve been around for a couple of years tearing up Europe and this record should be all they need to jump up the US charts. In their words “We want our music to speak of bygone times and old souls. The emphasis is on narrative lyrics accompanying playful melodies with intense, dense harmonies.”

Hey! I just started listening to these girls again when I remembered finding out about them here on your blog in the first place. Haven’t seen any posts from you in some time, no more wisdom sharing? XC
