Sound of Silence – 9.11.01

A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act.
– Mohandas Gandhi

There are few words or perhaps it would take too many to ease the pain that is felt today. I’m not a man who can write these words. Nothing can replace loss. Nothing. All one can hope is that their mind allows their heart to be content with some sense of solace when needed.

Today we remember 9.11.01. Since that day nearly 10,000 U.S souls have been lost. Not one is more important then the other. And there are tens of thousands of souls that have been lost for families of those overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Out of respect to these souls I will not defer to a right or a wrong. Take one day to just recognize the value of life and its loss. Bury your resentment, hatred and anger for just a moment and embrace a moment of reflection for loss and sacrifice for all who have fallen due to 9.11.01. Embrace the sound of silence.

Peace is the only true goal for humanity. Life is the gift.
